As your local representative, I was proud to open Australia's First Biosolids Plant in Loganholme.

Logan City Council, together with $6.23 million in funding from the Coalition Government in 2019, has established an Australian-First biosolids gasification facility at Loganholme wastewater treatment plant.

Logan Water has pioneered the project, which transforms sewage sludge (biosolids) into renewable energy and an environmentally friendly product called biochar.

Biochar is a soil improver, which improves agricultural output by helping to increase soil fertility.

It is also estimated that 6,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions are saved through the plant.

This plant is all about recycling more of our own waste, to improve our local environment.
