M1 Exit 41 Yatala South Upgrades

$82 million upgrade fast-tracked for Exit 41.

Work is progressing at pace on much needed upgrades to the M1’s Exit 41 (Yatala South).

I was proud to work with local residents to secure $41.0685 million, through the previous Coalition Government, which is helping to jointly fund the $82.137 project with the Queensland State Government.

The upgrade will reduce queues on the M1 motorway and improve traffic flow by:

– Removing existing roundabouts and replacing them with signalised intersections to allow traffic to flow more efficiently.

– Realigning the existing southbound and northbound on-ramps and off-ramps away from the main interchange intersections to reduce conflict points and traffic queuing.

– Constructing a new bridge beside the current overpass to increase capacity across the interchange.

– Adding a free-flowing left turn slip lane on the southbound off-ramp for traffic heading north on the Eastern Service Road.

This ongoing work should result in reduced travel times for commercial vehicles and residents, particularly in the Yatala and Ormeau communities.

I am committed to delivering on upgrades to exits along the M1 to improve safety and travel times for commuters across our local community.
